If you listened to the first episode of the Scottish Fisheries Museum’s latest podcast series Anchored: Marine life in lockdown, you may be interested in the latest episodes.

This podcast series looks at the affect the pandemic has had on maritime industries. It is the second from the Museum, the first being Sea Change, looking at the future of our seas. This future has, however, been hit by something completely unforeseen: a global pandemic.

Anchored: Marine Life in Lockdown was created to represent the many industries and people that rely on our coasts and waters from the fishermen to marine scientists, tourist attractions and more.

In the first three episodes we have spoken to people such as Catherine Gemmell from the Marine Conservation Society, Peter Bruce, Skipper of the Budding Rose PD418 and Minister for Rural Affairs and the Natural Environment, Mairi Gougeon.

In future episodes you will be hearing from Director of Fisheries Innovation Scotland, Kara Brydson, staff at the Firth of Forth Lobster Hatchery and more.

So far, the podcast has covered the lockdowns affect on conservation efforts, the catching and selling industries and spoke about seafood with Seafood Scotland, fishmongering expert CJ Jackson and chef Jak O’Donnell.

New episodes are available every second Tuesday, Episode 4 will be out on Tuesday the 3rd of November.

You can listen to the first 3 episodes of Anchored: Marine Life in Lockdown on Anchor or search “Scottish Fisheries Museum Podcast” on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other podcast services where you will also find the Sea Change podcast.
