For groups and community learning we offer an exciting and diverse range of facilitated and self-led activities for all stages and abilities.
What can we learn about at the museum?
The Scottish fishing industry and its associated crafts, people, environment, culture and towns are not only an important part of Scotland’s history but also of its present and future, making them relevant topics for community groups of all ages.
Along with the fishing industry you can also learn about boatbuilding, weather and navigation, safety at sea, architecture and the marine environment, giving access to science, social history, economics, technology, art and design, craft, geography and languages - creating a contemporary and inspiring learning resource.
Activities for children - early years up to 16 years old
Activities for adult groups
Our handling boxes are an especially good resource for reminiscence sessions for older groups. These can either be used at the museum after a guided tour, or you can borrow them to carry out your own reminiscence session. Please see our resources page for more information.
