In order to accompany the RNLI’s Hope in the Great War exhibition, the museum has put together two lifeboat workshops. Each workshop is planned to incorporate relevant aspects of Curriculum for Excellence and are available for P1-3, P4-7 and S1-3 classes.
Through a series of scientific experiments, classes will explore how the design of lifeboats has changed over the past two hundred years. This workshop is available for delivery in schools.
Through interacting with objects and documents from the museum’s collections, classes will investigate the differences between the experiences of contemporary lifeboat volunteers and those in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Please note that these workshops will continue to be available beyond the run of the Hope in the Great War exhibition.
