From time to time, staff and volunteers at the museum are asked to contribute to conferences or publications created by other organisations. Here are a few examples of subjects we’ve been working on in recent years:

The War at Sea:

A Heroic Endeavour: Scottish Fishing Communities and World War I by Linda Fitzpatrick and Mel Ruth Oakley. Published by WW100 Scotland.

Woven Communities:

From Creels to Quarter Crans: the form and function of baskets used by the Scottish fishing community in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by Linda Fitzpatrick. Presentation given at a symposium in St Andrews University in 2012.
